The following might work. Which you use depends on which UI you've

chosen to use in Windows XP: the classic UI or the Fisher-Price fluff

UI.

- Right-click on the Windows taskbar, select Properties.

- Start Menu tab. Click Customize button.

- For the Classic Start menu UI:

o Advanced Start menu options, scroll down.

o Find "Show Small Icons in Start menu" and enable it.

- For the Start menu (Fisher-Price UI):

o General tab.

o Select the icon size.

- OK your way out.

See if this helps.

Right click on your Taskbar and click on Lock the Taskbar if there's a check

mark next to it. This should unlock your Taskbar.

You should now see a vertical dotted bar next to your Start button.

Place your mouse pointer over this bar and right click.

You should see a menu with View at the top.

Move your mouse pointer up to View and see which option, large or small icons,

is checked.

Click on Small Icons if it's not checked.

Once you're finished right click on the Taskbar and click on Lock the Taskbar to

restore the check mark.

Good luck

Thank you, Nepatsfan! This is something I've been wanting to do too, and it

works perfectly.

Thank you, Vanguard! Although it didn't work for the taskbar, it did remind

me how to do it for the Start Menu. (I needed the same information John

did...)

If you have more than one row for the Windows taskbar, you need to

right-click on the drag handle for the bottom row next to the Start

button.

Thank you again! I'll keep a copy of this post for reference. Right now, my

taskbar is only one row, but it might not be in the future.
