Not wanting to buy another printer I am continuing with my ageing HP5150 printer with my recent Windows 7 (64bit) desktop. Whilst the printer works OK I keep getting a warning when I try and download the HP printer 'assistant' software from disk to enable me to perform maintenance. I was aware that it might not like the new OS but is it still safe to continue with the download or just get a newer printer.:o Thanks.

Hi,

According to the HP site

see here

Your printer is Win 7 64 bit compatible and the drivers are embedded in Win 7 ( detect and install automatically )

What is the warning message that you get?

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

MiniToolBox

Network Test

Wireless Test

Thanks for the reply. Yes your right, the printer is plug and play and works fine. The software on the disk is old though (pre-Vista) and shows a rectangular yellow warning re: the OS. I need the software to enable cartridge cleaning/alignment and troubleshooting. The Windows Printer Test Page was also OK.
