Guest Kwmani Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I had to format and reinstall XP Pro SP2 and lost the thumbnail preview that showed at the bottom of the Detail section of the left pane in Windows Explorer. I remember it is a simple item, but despite my best attempts at using XP's Help feature I cannot find the information. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Ken
Guest Rey Santos Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 RE: Left Pane Detail Question Are you using windows classic folders? In Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder options > General tab, under task, tick the radio button "Show common tastk in folders". Then click the folder icon on the toolbar. The blue pane should appear on the left to show File and Folder Tasks, Other Places and Details. -- Rey "Kwmani" wrote: > I had to format and reinstall XP Pro SP2 and lost the thumbnail preview that > showed at the bottom of the Detail section of the left pane in Windows > Explorer. Guest Kwmani Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 RE: Left Pane Detail Question Rey, Thanks for the reply. I have the blue bar in the left pane showing all that you listed. Under details it can display a thumbnail of a file if it is a graphic file. I need to turn that feature on and cannot remember how to do it. Guest Rey Santos Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 RE: Left Pane Detail Question Type in the command prompt REGSVR32 WEBVW.DLL and REGSVR32 THUMBVW.DLL and your thumbnail views should be restored. If not see if the files are present in system32 folder. -- Rey "Kwmani" wrote: > Rey, > > Thanks for the reply. I have the blue bar in the left pane showing all that > you listed.
