Guest gs Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 if the IDEPort01 is the actual first IDE port on the ATAPI controller, then there is only one DVD Burner there - I don't expect to use in day to day operation. There is no disk in it and I don't expect activity on it. However I am getting a bunch of such errors below after the server has been running for a week on so. Once reboot the error goes away. Used to start only after several weeks of running. and it is getting more often. what is the best way to to determine if the device driver corruption, memory or DVD or Controller? for now I disable from devmgmt.msc and see what happens until I see some way of diagnose and fix Event Type: Error Event Source: atapi Event Category: None Event ID: 9 Date: 2008-08-14 Time: 12:53:52 User: N/A Computer: mysvr01 Description: The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.
