Guest Bill-Hayward Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I would like to do offsite backups for my small non-profit, about 25 employees. I already do backups to tape, and would like this to be an additional backup. I would like to buy a PC with a large hard drive, set it up at home, with a DSL connection and use it as a backup, across the internet. Are there programs available that would allow me to backup our computers, across the internet to our computer, at another location? I think it would be great if it worked like a normal backup program, I can set the time for it to start, and repeat regularly, and backup to a remote location. I know that you can get this service for a monthly fee, to backup to their computers. I want to do it to mine/ours. Does anyone know of programs that will do this? thank you, Bill

I use something called "Second Copy" to supplement my "real" backup utility. Second Copy has some sort of FTP option built into it - but I'm too clueless about peer-to-peer internet stuff to tell if it's real-world usable. Might be worth a download of the trial version and a little reading. -- PeteCresswell
