file sharing broken on 1 of 4 networked computers

I have 4 computers in a peer to peer network in a small office, all running

XP Pro, including the "server". the default "shared documents" is set for

file sharing on all 4 machines. For some reason, one of the machines

"frontdesk" cannot access some but not all of the folders open to sharing on

the "server". The other two machines have unrestricted access and

"Frontdesk" can access shared folders on the other two machines without

trouble. In what may be a related problem, the printer on Frontdesk is also

not accessible via network sharing to the other computers. any suggestions?

You write "The machines "frontdesk" cannot access some but not all of the

folders open to sharing on the server." You need to tell us what exactly

happens when "Frontdesk" attemps to open the problem folders.

Re: file sharing broken on 1 of 4 networked computers

I get an error message that tells me that I dont have access to that

resource.

I can see the folder on the list in "my Network Places" but not the

subfolders (as I can for those folders on the same machine to which I still

have access).

If I delete the folder in my network places or on the original machine and

try to reestablish it, the same thing happens.

Sharing is enabled and set for all types of access for "Everyone" for each

shared folder.

Make sure that the account/password used by the Frontdesk

machine also exists on the other machines.
