Guest Chazz Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Grateful for advice please. I have Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 Service Pack 3 [according to about windows]. I have a few problems which I think are related. I use internet explorer 7 every now and again it crashes and an error report is created. I can not auto update windows at the moment. I recently subscribed to a horse racing form service but I can not register to receive it. I get error messages 2147024770 (8007007e)' Automation error and Library can not be found. I believe files in system32 have become corrupted. Dll files ? [To get missing dll files a web site advised me to get them from my XP installation disk but of course I get the you have a more recent version than the CD message] Unless there is a fix all I can do is reinstall Windows ?

Guest Chazz Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Re: PROBLEMS WITH XP HOME Thank you for your reply, I do not know how to copy error reports in full, but the headings are now listed, which I hope is useful. IE 7 frequently crashes and I get the error message – AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.16705 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 017f1ecc When I click on windows update an error message is created which is sent, then IE is closed. Error is headed - AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.16705 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 016d1ecc When I open the horse racing software I should be led to a form to confirm my details to register the software, but the programme opens and I get an error message – 2147319779(8002801d) Automation error library not registered. I have the option of completing the registration form without opening the main programme. When I complete the form I click send then get the same error message - 2147319779(8002801d) Automation error library not registered. Grateful for any advice.
