I have had for years. Now I cannot gain access because of another user using it and sending spam, etc.

Now Hotmail wants me to get my account back but I need an authentication code.

So I have asked for that

And it is sent to my alternate mailbox

Should be simple right?

Unfortunately my alternate mailbox automatically forwards the email to my Hotmail account. I cannot get access to my Hotmail account.

Is there another way I can get things back to normal? As the computer just finished doing some updates before this problem showed up.

I was thinking maybe going to "Restore" function and restore back a few days ago.

Any responses please send to email address removed to protect the member from spam

This is XP pro

Thank you

Hotmail is a free web based mail. The problem isn't your computer. The problem is they have locked you out of your account because it was being used to spam.

As a free service you will get limited support from them. Your best bet is to change the setting on your alternate account to not forward the mail.
