Hi and welcome to ExTS

Is this a desktop machine ?

when I do a memtest it says I got corrupt memory

This doesn't sound good.

Is this with the original modules installed?

Assuming that you have 1 set of good RAM......

Switch on and constantly tap DEL about once per second. ( if this doesn't work try F2 )

You need access to the BIOS.

If neither works when you switch on watch the screen - it will say "To enter Setup press ****"

This will take you into the BIOS

You are looking for the Boot Sequence / Boot Order or similar.

You need to make the DVD CDROM the first boot device.

You will be prompted on screen how to move it ( usually with the + / - keys )

If you do move it remember to Save and Exit ( usually F10 - but again you will be prompted ).

Try the disk again.

You do not want to reinstall yet - look for Startup Repair option

OK You have working RAM.

Have you checked in the BIOS that the DVD CDROM drive is first in the Boot Order?

It needs to be.

The instructions on screen ( your attachment ) are showing what I suggested in my first post.

Can you get this far?

What happens with the system now assuming that the BIOS is set correctly ?
