sfombom Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Alright the computer is doing all of the following: -Shuts down frequently by itself, then restarts -when starting up keyboard is disabled so safe mode can ot be used -Once loggied into accout, a window pops up stating that windows had a serious problem -Another window pops up stating that windows ist working properly and needs to be restarted +Both windows have no "X" to exit out of the pop up, must either press "Do not send" or "Send Information" -Along with that another pop up comes up stating that a "watson" program is not working properly, gives me the same choices -When trying to open up my virus'malware protection program I get the same exact message as the others, or it simply freezes up the computer for a few minutes then resumes as if nothing had ever happened -If i try to start new command with task manager, for instanve my webroot protection program, i get another error message and it shuts down -I've tried opening up control panel to see if i could tweak something but it refuses to pop up -Lastly msn wont work properly ....then computer shuts off and whole process starts over again.... i'm not a computer wiz as you can tell hahaha, however i still need to identify the problem so i can make a better attempt at taking out the problem Thanks Quote
KenB Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS Try this: Start ....type in .....cmd ....... ( do not hit ENTER yet ) Right click on the "cmd" that shows top left of screen > Run as Administrator At the command prompt type .........sfc /scannow ...........ENTER ( there is a space after SFC ) System File Checker will inspect all System Files and replace / repair any damaged ones. The SFC will take some time to scan. You should see something like this: Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! Starbuck Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I'll just make a reply here so that i get a notification of any replies. If the sfc /scannow process doesn't work, we'll look at other alternatives. Quote Member of:UNITE
