i am using an emachine, which only came with a system recovery disc. the

only solution ive found for this is to run command line commands, however i

cannot get into any form of DOS command prompts seeing how my recovery cd

only gives me two options, full destructive reformat or backup reformat. ive

done both of these and still get the same error. any advice?

- What error are you getting, when and where?

- Are you asking for advice on how to use your recovery disk? If so then

you need to read the manual that came with it. Every manufacturer has

his own recovery disk and it is not possible to give any general advice.

Mount the drive in another computer such as a "D:" drive.

Richt-Click on "D:\NTLDR" and choose; Properties --> Advanced.

Uncheck the box for "Compress contents..."

How does your Subject relate to the body of your post?

Sigh. Okay, and *WHAT* is that "same error"?

Usually you get one chance per potential respondent to elicit a reply

from them. If they skip your post because you gave them nothing to go

on (no details, no versions, no context), usually they will just move on

to the next post and never return to yours. Go read:

Re: ntldr is compressed

Borrow a retail version of XP then run the command/s. It is rather

painless.
