Manually remove Adobe Reader (8.x on Windows) http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb400769&sliceId=2 Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 Scroll down and download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility Package. In XP go to Start, then Search and look for MSICuu2.exe. When the icon shows up, run the program. After its done, you will get a list of files. Click on Adobe and it will remove it. Flash Support Forums http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm?forumid=15 Alternatively you can try: Brute Force Uninstaller http://www.majorgeeks.com/Brute_Force_Uninstaller_BFU_d4714.html and/or Revo Uninstaller http://www.revouninstaller.com/ A better alternatives to Adobe Reader are: Foxit reader. The free version can be obtained from URL:- http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php or PDF XChange Viewer for free! http://www.docu-track.com/ http://www.docu-track.com/home/prod_user/PDF-XChange_Tools/pdfx_viewer/
Guest Gramma Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Re: Uninstall for Adobe Reader Update KB403742 HA! Haven't you read MS posts and Adobe Forums? Adobe support is out on extended vacation--or just left Adobe! Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Re: Uninstall for Adobe Reader Update KB403742 Try uninstalling the Adobe Reader Update first, any security updates for Adobe Reader, and then uninstall Adobe Reader. Both the Adobe Reader Update and any previous/subsequent updates should show the dates when they were installed. Uninstall using the latest date first.
