Guest Don Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I recently installed Windows XP on my computer, together with the associated programs Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. I notice when I use the spell checker in Outlook Express, it wants to correct words to French. I went to Tools/Options and then selected the Spelling tab. However, in the Language section, the only language available to me is French. What must I do to change this to English (United States)? -- Don

You no longer have spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook Express 6.0 after you install the 2007 Microsoft Office system: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974 Outlook Express cannot use the MS Word spell check in Office 2007. Downloading a free spell check is the simplest way around this. Vampirefo: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2952 TinySpell: http://www.tinyspell.m6.net/ (Checks the spelling as you type).
