Guest Kieron Capehorn Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 The file types of media files on my PC have got mixed up. Most media files on my PC now have the Winamp filetype as their icon in Windows Explorer, even though they do not open in Winamp when you double click on them by default. In addition, in the 'File Type' section of Explorer, all of these files are listed as 'Winamp Media File', even though they are associated with other programs, such as WMP9 and flvPlayer. How can I put this right? Thanks
Guest ju.c Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Re: Icon Problems To change FileTypes: 1. From "Explorer" open "Folder Options". 2. Select the tab "File Types". 3. Scroll down to an extension you wish to modify, like "MP3". Select it. 4. Click the "Advanced" button. 5. You can change the "FileType" by typing a description in the top input area.
