Guest mikee Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 We have a w2k3 domain. We have some servers on our dmz and we can't give them access to the internet to download patches. Does microsoft have a site that has all the patches, and something that will scan the server and then install all needed patches from a cd or dvd? We don't want to have to download the patches one by one and then copy them to a disk. ie an iso of all pathces that we can install would be nice. Thanks in advance

Guest mikee Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Re: Windows 2003 patches We have servers that haven't been patched in a year. Is there an iso image or other type that has all the patches up until now? Also can it scan the server and tell us what patches it need? Thanks in advance "Thee Chicago Wolf" wrote: > >We have a w2k3 domain. We have some servers on our dmz and we can't give them > >access to the internet to download patches. There is no "Up Until Now" patch set since these releases are monthly updates. It is assumed the machine being updated is Internet capable for updating. You would have to manually download and apply past updates or connect it to the Internet, run Windows Update, and disconnect again. There is no easy way around it. - Thee Chicago Wolf
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Re: Windows 2003 patches Hello mikee, I assume in the internal network, not dmz, you have internet access. Install WSUS there and let the dmz machines pull the updates from the WSUS.
