Password Protect box shows a missing text field

Sometimes when I wake up my computer from Standby and I'm looking at the

Password Protect box, the text box that you enter your password in is

completely missing. I mean the box is gone. I can still type in characters to

enter my password to log on, but for some strange reason, the text box itself

does not show.

 

At first I thought it was due to an outdated video driver, but I just

updated the driver and it still happens on occasion.

 

Anyone know why this could be happening?
