can not detect UBS hard disk

Hi,

My server 2003 Enterprise Edition 64 bit. When I connect USB hard disk to

the server the hard disk can not be seen in computer even though that the

device manager can detect this hard disk. There is nothing wrong with the

disk because I can be seen on other laptop.

I also update this USB hard disk driver from device manager but it is not

able to show in computer windows.

Just a hunch but did you try installing the Intel Chipset Software

Install utility yet?

It might be the case that the service to control removable devices is stopped

(don't know the exact name).

Go to the service.msc and check.

Hi,

try this:

Open computer management console , disk management , right click your new

drive and select assign drive letter
