Hoping someone can help. I had an old laptop that died on me, it had some photo's in it that I wanted to take out. I have taken out the Hard Drvie from the old system and put it into a hard Drive IDE enclosure. I have linked it upto my current system via USB and can access the folders and files. I have found the folders which hold the pictures and can see there are pictures in there. However when I double click onto each picture to look at it the system says "Windows photo viewer can't open this picture beacuse you dont have the correct permissions to access the file location". In the properties tab under security I have put my current system as the current owner, however this still does not let me see the picture.

I have been told that this is beacuse all the pictures, etc are encrypited/password protected for the old laptop and therefore I cannot see it on the current system.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of software or something I can use to decrypt it or remove the password so I can view it on my current system?

Thanks

If the old laptop was yours surely you would know if the pictures were password protected or not.

Were they?
