helpwanted22019 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I have read this is due to windows vista. I have wireless broadband with virgin, i had it fixed once by someone coming out but then 10 minutes after they left it stoped working again. Now it basically goes on and off constantly showing a yellow triangle and at times goes off all together. It works fine using the cable and my brother connects to the router and never has any wireless problems. He has windows 7. Thankful for any help. Have no idea how to solve this. Paul Quote
KenB Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Based on your other 2 posts I have to wonder if this is designed to waste our time too ?? helpwanted22019 Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Simple answer, no. How would hosting on the internet not be to do with pc's? And website software not to do with programming? Obviously i have not understood the sites purpose. Quote
KenB Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 OK - let's take it from here: constantly showing a yellow triangle 1. I assume that this is on the monitor icon ....bottom right of screen ? 2. When your brother is connected wirelessly - is he in the same room as you ? 3. If not - test to see if he loses the connection from your location. 4. Does the laptop drop the connection if you are in the same room as the router? I suspect that this is a poor signal from the router or there is radio interference. 5. It may be linked to cordless phones - do you have any in the house. 6. What is the make and model number of the router? helpwanted22019 Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Yes in the bottom right. It's a BELKIN Model F5D8236-4 v3 but i don't think it has anything to do with the router as with the previous router it wouldn't work either. The signal strength is excellent. Don't have any house phones, just mobiles. My brother has no connection problems anywhere in the house. Quote
KenB Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 4. Does the laptop drop the connection if you are in the same room as the router? Please do the following when you can connect - then again when the connection has dropped. Start > type in ....cmd ......right click on the cmd.exe top left of screen > Run as Administrator At the command prompt type .....ipconfig /all .........ENTER This is a small black icon top left. Right click on this > Edit > Select All Right click on it again > Edit > Copy CTRL + V to paste both here. Please make sure there is a connection and there is no connection by looking at the monitor icon bottom left of screen.
