Can't login to newly created accounts

Hello,

I've got a friend running XP Home SP2 and when he creates an new user

account it doesn't allomw him to login to that account. It doesn't matter

if he adds a password or not. If he doesn't add a password, it still asks

for one. If he adds a password and then tries to enter that password to

login, it doesn't accept it.

Why would this happen? How can I fix it for him?

Thanks,

Jeff

Get him to turn off CapsLock. If this makes no differenc,

ask him to set the password to something really easy, e.g.

111111 (6 "1"s).

That's not the issue. I've logged in remotely to his system and tried

setting up users with the caps lock off and even tried setting up a user

with and without a password. Either way, it will always ask for a password,

but never accept the correct password that I've setup.

Thanks,

Jeff

The Default User and/or the All Users profiles may be corrupt. Try

copying those from a known good machine to the problem machine.

Re: Can't login to newly created accounts

The Profile folders:

\Documents and Settings\All Users

\Documents and Settings\Default User

I would try only the Default User first and see if the problem corrects

itself.
