Guest Chris Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I have a Win 2008 server that will host a front application that has an Oracle database backend. Prior to Win 2008, I would install the Oracle client and all would be good. I installed the Oracle client on the 2008 Server and got no errors. However when I go to "Create new data source", Oracle is not an option as it would be on 2003. Any suggestions on what I am missing. We are trying to move forward with 2008 deployments and would prefer not have to revert back to 2003. Thanks -- ccoates
Guest Dusko Savatovic Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Re: Unable to set up ODBC setting That would be a question for developer and/or SQL Server group. Back in the old days of SQL Server 2000 I was involved in similar project as yours and Oracle data source connector was missing. However, the proper connector was available in Visual Studio 6. In the meantime I moved away from Oracle. So I believe that folks at mentioned groups might be helpful to you. Good luck, and please post a solution here if you get one.
