pilotbob Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Hi All, Having just returned to work after the break I find my network in the office is not working. I have 4 PCs all with XP Pro SP3 on them. All worked together via a Netgear DG834G router/modem, with file and print sharing and all connected to the Internet before the break. This morning I can only get internet on 1 machine and can't access files on this machine from the others. I've tried repairing the connection on each machine, no joy. Is there any way I can clear all of the existing network details fromm all machines and start again? Or any othe advise you can give me. KenB Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Hi Bob, The problem most likely lies with the router itself. Try switching the power off - wait 30 secs - switch back on again. pilotbob Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Thanks Ken, Once again you are right on the money, I had tried re-booting the router a couple of times already with no success. This time I left it switched off for a couple of minutes then switched on again but it was another 20 minutes before the system started to work properly again. Thanks again......problem solved! Quote
