Guest Kardon Coupé Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Dear All, Got a weird on here, don't how to get around it.... the Subject line is technically true, but not totally... I've got a laptop that is connecting wirelessly to a domain, usual practice, turn the latop on, wait a second or two for the wireless card to spring to life, and then log on... For some reason recently, it has been upable to log on, because windows isn't remember the I.P address (192.168.1.x) which has been manually set, so I get the error message about the profile will not be able to be stored... So, it boots up, I access the networking section, repair the connection, get my IP back and I'm fine, but when logging off, it doesn't save the settings, so next reboot I'm getting it again... Anyway around this? is there a setting or command in the machine I can tell it to take the settings and store them to the profile, so when I next boot up it is sorted? Regards Paul.

Other idea, it can be some malware or virus - something with goal to make little mess. Check Your laptop with AV. Guest Kardon Coupé Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Re: Can't Log on to Server. I have the IP Address statically assigned on that machine, even if I switch to DHCP it can't remember I've switched as it doesn't save the settings out on logoff/restart.. I have done a full virus check and spyware check... Any other ideas? Regards Paul "Michael A.
