I just created a new folder on my desk top to hold word documents. When I

double click to open the folder it opens in search results mode with the

search companion in far left column. Yet when I right click on the folder and

select open it opens and displays the contained documents. How do I get this

folder to open like all my others when I double click on it?

RE: folder options

Click Start, Run and type this command:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

If that does not work try thi:

Open Registry Editor : Satart > Run > Type regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ shell

In the right-pane, locate and double click the (Default) value

Type the word none in the Value data box, and then click OK

Exit Registry Editor
