Hi guys,

My PC is a Compaq CQ5115UK, running windows vista home premium, 4gb of ram and a quad core Q8200 CPU.

I recently bought a Nvidia GeForce 7300GS 256MB graphics card, as i want to hook up my pc to 2 displays and the integrated graphics card would not allow me to do this. I picked this one up really cheap (£10) although it was used - but i thought this would not be an issue.

I opened up my PC, located the PCI x16 slot and installed the graphics card. I then reassembled my pc and powered on, however i heard a series of long beeps and my display was not working. I tried plugging my display into the integrated graphics card and this new one, but no luck with either.

What do you guys think the problem is? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to ExTS

Take the GeForce 7300GS off the motherboard and connect the monitor to the onboard graphics.

Try now.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes the onboard graphics card works fine on its own.. any ideas? could the new one be faulty?

Ok then, thats what i thought :/

In that case i will request a refund... i was thinking about buying this one instead :

Will this be compatible with my PC? I heard that some graphics cards need a more powerful PSU...

Thanks for your help.
