enabling quota

i was wondering does quota work for server not part of a domain ? does it

work for local users ?

 

suppose i enabled it on drive d: will local users who login have spesific

amount of space ? i tried but didnt work ?

Hello Pure,

 

If you post the way how you configure the quota it is easier to follow you.

Normally you can set quotas on harddisk's. There is no need for a domain.

Please describe more in detail what you have done.

Re: enabling quota

 

Yes, it works regardless of domain or workgroup.

One reason it doesn't work is if users are members of local administrators

group. By default, quotas do not apply to local admins.

what i did was simple i right clicked on drive d: showed properties and

configured quota with space limit and warning limit then loged with different

local users who are part of local admin group and saved files bigger than the

warning limit no warning message was displayed :)
