- How long has this been going on?

- Can you get into Safe Mode? (press F8 repeatedly at boot time).

Suggestions:

How to use MSCONFIG:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310560

Added info.....

"One of my users has this a few weeks ago and it was solved by disabling

one of the startup items and I think it was Plaxo."

From a previous post:

The idlist error is very (in fact, extremely) likely due to an Intel

wireless chip driver.

Disable it if it causes a problem. Try in Msconfig

(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab)

A previous response by Doug Knox may help after that:

---quote-----------

Windows XP support Wireless Zero Configuration. You don't need the

Intel configuration/control software. To let Windows manage the

wireless settings, right click My Network Places and select

Properties. Right click your wireless connection and select

Added info:

When the explorer shell is first launched it attempts:

SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /idlist,%I,%L

/IDLIST

This is an additional parameter that means a Windows internal structure is

being passed. eg:

Explorer.exe /e,/idlist,%I

The %I is a replacable parameter representing an IDLIST.

%L is a long file name or in your case a directory path.
