Guest LondonLad Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Hi XP pro SP3 I am a single user with full Admin rights, i did not like to have to log in with a user name so I followed instructions ib my XP book. eg:- Start - Run Enter text:- control userpasswords2 Press Enter remove check mark Users Must Enter..... Enter the user name and password you want to log on automatically So I thought use Home and then a password but this was not my name or the administrators(me) now when I log on I get an error, if I click OK everything works fine. When I go to the Users Account GUI up at the top on the grey section left hand corner to the right of the Right Green Arrow there is added User Account Icon with the name:- Home All attempts to clear this has failed, can you help please? Error msg:- The system could not log you on. Make sure your user name and domain are correct. then type your password again, letters in passwords must be typed using correct case. Behind this error message, the XP login GUI can be seen but it is never active because after you click OK login is completed. Ron

Guest LondonLad Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Re: User Account Logon Hi Kelly Thanks for your post, I did try that and also creating a user called Home, what I think I need is a way to reverse the control userpasswords2 action. Like is there a userpasswords0 or 1. Any ideas?
