Flash Drive Files and SP3

I updated my computer with the SP3 update today, and I accidently forgot to

remove my flashdrive, since I had to backup my computer on it. I noticed it

was still in the computer by the time the cleanup had started, since I had

many other things going on at that time. When I restarted my computer and

went to open some files on my flashdrive, I noticed they were gone, deleted.

I know for a fact that the files were on the flash drive before the cleanup.

I could have dealt with one or two missing files, since that happens

sometimes if a program isn't closed properly, or the wrong button is pushed.

But I have at least ten missing files, along with things that have only the

information in them from when I put them on the flash drive the first time.

Can anyone help me get my files back? I know it's possible, but I'd rather

not send my flash drive to a company that will charge me hundreds of dollars.

Try the flash drive on another PC.

Try the drive in another computer as JS suggests. If nothing shows up, then

I'm sorry but unfortunately the only way to get the files back is by

sending it to a professional data recovery company. Although this is quite

expensive, your insurance may cover it so it is worth asking if the data is

important. Drive Savers can get data off flash drives.

before you go thinking of spending $$$$ on some company to recover

your files....

Use google - and Search for what you need!

I just did that and within the past two came up with several choices

for you...

here's a seletion:

http://www.handyrecovery.com/?gclid=CIPcz7q8pJUCFQccegodWgVvkQ

http://www.jufsoft.com/badcopy/flash_drive_recovery.asp

http://free-backup.info/data-recovery-software.htm

http://data-recovery-professional.com/?k=Flash%20Drive%20Data%20Recovery

http://www.recoverdata.in/recovery-data/memory-stick-data-recovery-utilities.html

I'm sure if I kept searching I could'v uncovered a free one ~

somewhere....

but choose the best from this and trial it out - it may uncover your

files

and you may need to buy the program to save them - but a whole lot

better to spend

maybe $40 ~ instead of many$.

all the best...
