Guest Samantha Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 All of a sudden after always working before, my printer, which is not connected to my laptop, but our home pc, is not connected to my laptop. I can not find it using the add a printer wizard, and I no longer have the original printer install disc. I have tried numerous suggestions from other posts, and none have worked. My home pc printer is set up to share, the printer has a name, and my wireless connection is up and running. Any suggestions for getting my printer to work from my laptop?
Guest David Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 RE: Adding Network Printer to laptop...no other suggestions have worke The first thing I would try is to download to your laptop the relevant printer driver from the website of your printer's manufacturer. The install process should offer you the way to connect to the printer connected to you "non-local" home pc -- Cheers ... Guest GNET_NY Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 RE: Adding Network Printer to laptop...no other suggestions have worke Please check the printer ports section to see if your printer port to the shared printer still exists. If it references an IP address and the IP changed on the PC, then the printer will not function. I would have the latest downloaded driver ready and then locate the PC and the printer share from the laptop and right click the printer and then "connect". Good luck!
