Permissions Question.

I have several directories under my web root. These directories are tied to

virtual dirs.

 

All is well and there are no issues, however when I delete files within a

certain directory (not withstanding that it is a virtual dir), the virtual

dir display in mmc show a stop sign.

 

AND, the dir security settings show that USERS has FC, no one else.

 

If I then change the perms on this particular dir to inherit and prop al the

way down, the stop sign disappears and the appropriate groups have the

correct perms in the dialog.

 

As suggested, there is no harm and everything seems to be fine.

 

My question is, why do the permissions disappear and only the local USERS

group has permissions - in fact, they have FC, when I delete files (not the

dir itself).
