Guest Timothy Daniels Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 A Desktop.ini file has appeared in My Recent Documents folder, but I don't know its original location, so I can't return it there, and I'm warned of dire consequences if I try to delete it. Can somebody tell me where its belongs? I run XP Pro/SP3, and here are the contents of the stray Desktop.ini file: [.ShellClassInfo] InfoTip=@Shell32.dll,-12692 IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll IconIndex=-21 LocalizedResourceName=@shell32.dll,-12691 *TimDaniels*
Guest Alex Levi Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 RE: stray Desktop.ini When you change folder settings (icon, make it read only ...) this file Desktop.ini will appear. It can be located in any folder. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc144102(VS.85).aspx "Timothy Daniels" wrote: > A Desktop.ini file has appeared in My Recent Documents folder, > but I don't know its original location, so I can't return it there, and > I'm warned of dire consequences if I try to delete it.
