No. Perhaps if you tell us what "not bringing HDD back to life" means, we could help you further. If your hard drive has physically died, the Recovery Console won't do you any good anyway. You can also borrow an XP install disk from a friend and boot into Recovery Console with it. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ
Guest txgeek Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Re: Recovery Console HDD examined in good pc. did chkdsk /f. only 1 user file repaired. huge number of infections removed. then back to orig pc; no boot. RC stopped at c: prompt. didn't ask me 'which windows' to repair. so, i reran and went to Install. found that partition was corrupt, although I could read disk all over int he good PC. so I did clean format and install. back running, but more time than i guesstimated at first. thanx anyway Malke wrote: > txgeek <anon> wrote: > > >>my XP cd kinda scratchy, RC not bringing HDD back to life. >> >>Is there a way to push RC onto a HDD as a slave drive in a good PC? > > > No. Perhaps if you tell us what "not bringing HDD back to life" means, we > could help you further.
