Hi,

I have an xp machine unfortunately after installing a new program or driver

( i don't know which) windows won't boot fully.I have no idea what this

program was, sorry!

I can't access windows via safemode as all I get is a black screen. Windows

loads a bit further when I select Last Known Good configuration .It gets to

the point where "windows is loading ...please wait"and then I get the

following error:

"The problem seems to be caused by the following file: mrxdav.sys

DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANNCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS

TECHNICAL INFO:

*** STOP: 0x000000CE ( 0xBA5E75A8, 0x00000000, 0xBA5E75A8, 0x00000000)

mrxdav.sys

Please note I get this error after loading last known good configuration.

Is there a fix for this error message? Many thank

Tim Vieweg.

RE: startup errors, blue screen.

If I had this problem, I would put in the original Windows XP disc and try

doing the Automated System Recovery (ASR).

Use the recovery Console and run the chkdsk /r , you will need the XP CD to

perform this procedure.

How to install and use the Recovery Console in Windows XP

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654

A hot fix if you been able to log on and still get the sys file missing or

the error message you can download it from here:

A stop in Mrxdav.sys error occurs, or your computer restarts

Re: startup errors, blue screen.

Tim

Then your HDD is dying or going bad. You need to download the diagnostic

tool for your HDD from the manufacturer website and run a test.

If the process too much for you, hen take the machine to your local repair

shop to rescue any data you want first and then proceed to repair ot clean

install of the operating system.

The Error refer to a bad sectors on your HDD hat may be caused by the

software driver you installed!
