Guest Tim Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Hi, I have an xp machine unfortunately after installing a new program or driver ( i don't know which) windows won't boot fully.I have no idea what this program was, sorry! I can't access windows via safemode as all I get is a black screen. Windows loads a bit further when I select Last Known Good configuration .It gets to the point where "windows is loading ...please wait"and then I get the following error: "The problem seems to be caused by the following file: mrxdav.sys DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANNCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS TECHNICAL INFO: *** STOP: 0x000000CE ( 0xBA5E75A8, 0x00000000, 0xBA5E75A8, 0x00000000) mrxdav.sys Please note I get this error after loading last known good configuration. Is there a fix for this error message? Many thank Tim Vieweg.

How to install and use the Recovery Console in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654 A hot fix if you been able to log on and still get the sys file missing or the error message you can download it from here: A stop in Mrxdav.sys error occurs, or your computer restarts http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832143/en-us HTH nass --- http://www.nasstec.co.uk
