I was advised by an HP tech to reload my XP home program on my laptop to correct some error issues I encountered I started the process, and found my self inthemiddleof havintwo different xp programs. I did not find any indications on how to uninstall the original system prior to installing the new one. Check the documentation that came with your laptop - it's all detailed in there.
