Partition Software

Hi all,

I am looking for a software that can create partitions. I used to use the

windows cd to create the partitions but it's not very efficient for me to do

that. I am referring to partitons I make after installing windows for

whatever reason. Any recommendations?

Any response is appreciated.

Regards,

Eric

Google is your friend. I typed this into a Google search box:

"Partition Manager"

and got countless hits, e.g. Paragon, Acronis, Ranish, Cute

and Wikipedia. The last one gives you the best oversight:

Re: Partition Software

There is nothing better than Acronis Disk Director, especially for a novice.

It is simple enough for the beginner, yet powerful enough for the advanced.

Partition Magic is only OK. It has limitations.

Of course it all comes down to choice.

Re: Partition Software

What about the built-in Windows Disk Management tool? If all you want

to do is create or delete partitions it will do just that for you. You

can run it by entering diskmgmt.msc in the Start Menu Run box.

I'm guessing that may be a bit overkill if all he wants is a partition

manager, but I haven't used it.

Like what? (talking about version 8 here)

(but it's the only Norton product I allowed on my system)

Re: Partition Software

Hi All,

Thanks for the reply.

Sometimes I need to created new partitions after I did a low level format on

the SCSI HD and need to restore from Ghost. Without having the logical

partitions Ghost will not work.

I also was looking for software that can fix corrupted partitions and it

seems that Acronis can do that.

Thanks,

I have. I've tested over 30 Partition Managers. Creating working partitions easily and safely is not

"overkill".

Many, but you should try them all yourself to really know, you can read this comparison:
