Guest ThomasAJ Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I was about to start the backup when I noticed there was no provision to enter a backup name. I looked at the HELP and read "On the Confirmation page, review the details, and then click Backup. The wizard prepares the backup set, FORMATS the optical or removable media (if that is what you are using), and then creates the backup." Strike me pink - I had other backups on that USB HD. Can someone confirm (oe deny) that backup 'takes over' the entire destrination HD. -- Regards Tom
Guest ThomasAJ Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Re: Does Backup 2008 format the destination HD. I'm a bit confused about the answer here. I'm talking about W2008 'Windows Server Backup' and not NTBACKUP. Also talking about backuping up and not restoring. -- Regards Tom "Ace Fekay [MVP Direcrtory Services]" wrote: > > "ThomasAJ" <ThomasAJ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:ABEFE302-84C8-4EEB-86F9-26B9B6502946@microsoft.com... > >I was about to start the backup when I noticed there was no provision to > > enter a backup name.
