Shortcuts, panes, grayed out

Within the last day, my computer has booted with all my shortcuts grayed

out on my desktop. This is also true for the panes of any windows that I

open. Upon minimizing or closing these windows, my entire desktop,

startup menu, basically everything becomes gray. It's responding slowly

when this happens. My drivers are all up to date and I havn't installed

anything recently that I think could make this happen. Help would be

much appreciated.
