Guest CrazySaguaro Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Has anyone ever seen an error like this? The PC freezes once or twice a day with these crazy rectangles on the display. The PC has Windows XP and is a Lenovo T60. Windows doesn't even have time to respond and no errors are logged in the System Log that I can see. Upon a hard restart, Windows does not show the F8 boot message or come up with any errors/popups when I reach the desktop. Guest Mick Murphy Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 RE: PC freezes, rectangles shown on display From your 1st photo, I'd say it was failing Graphics/video Card. Being a laptop, it is normally Onboard Graphics(embedded in the Motherboard). Is the laptop new? -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "CrazySaguaro" wrote: > Has anyone ever seen an error like this? Guest CrazySaguaro Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Re: PC freezes, rectangles shown on display Thanks Malke - that is what I thought. It's a corporate PC, thankfully, so I'll bring it in to trade for a different one tomorrow. :)

G84 and G86 and possibly others. http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2008/07/09/nvidia-g84-g86-bad There is a mapping between chip code name (G84 or G86) and their marketing names, here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_8_Series Paul
