Guest Chia1995 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I have been unable to get Windows Media Player to open now for several weeks. I did a reinstall to no effect. When I select the search page in the START menu, it opens, but all I see is the puppy, but no text or search fields. IE won't play any flashplayer, java, etc. I am using Mozilla Firefox now to get by the IE problems, but I still can't get into WMP or my Search Window. I found out today that the Help and Support option in START menu won't open as well. All these problems cropped up at the same time. I've done a complete virus scan, but nothing has been found. Any suggestions? Also, I can't find my XP cd so no luck trying a reinstall.

Here are a few things to try: For Jscript Errors, you might look through the suggestions on this web site: http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=javascript+errors You might try these first though. Repair 5.6 Scripting Engine install: Click, Start, Run, type Regsvr32 vbscript.dll Click OK Click Start, Run, type Regsvr32 jscript.dll Click OK _______________ Sun Java can be downloaded here: http://java.sun.com _______________ No content in the search menu. Click Start, Run and type: regsvr32 %Windir%\srchasst\srchui.dll regsvr32 jscript.dll regsvr32 /i urlmon.dll (From a post by Ramesh) _______________ -- Joe =o)
