Screen Saver won't work

Recommended Posts

My wifes computer (HP A1210n w/Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2) no

longer switches to screen saver when inactive. Selecting a screen saver

in Properties and then clicking Preview shows the screen saver, but the

screen saver will not activate automatically.

Any questions/suggestions?

TIA,

Fred

Is it a wireless mouse? There are hundreds of discussions about the

subject.

As a matter of fact, it is a wireless mouse - a Logitech trackball that

has functioned flawlessly on that PC for over a year. Read the articles

at the link you provided and I see they are oriented to a MS mouse, but

decided WTH, I'll just disable the trackball in Device Manager and see

what happens. Screen saver kicked in at the specified time. Think I'll

remove it in Device Manager, let Windows "discover" and reinstall it on

a reboot, and see what happens. Thanks for your assist...
