Hello

I am new to this group and would like to know if anyone can help with this problem that has arisen

I have a Acer Aspire 5935G running windows home prem 64bit and have no sound, and no internal speakers recognised - all I have is external hdmi output in volume options

I have acquired this laptop that no-one else could get the sound to work (PC repair shops etc) and I have ran a reinstall to factory settings - where the sound works at first then after an update from windows and a restart the sound disappeared again when looking on the device manager the driver on the second bus for sound controller has an error which it cannot fix - I then went to acer support and downloaded the realtek driver which solved the problem - then another restart later the same problem!!! Then I put a fresh copy of windows on there without all the factory reset junk thinking it may help. Same thing happened - then thought I'd uninstall all sound drivers and start agian - Same thing! - Then tried slimdrivers which gave me a amd driver from catalyst which worked fine all drivers sweet. After a restart same problem!! it is getting annoying to say the least. I found disabling then re-enabling the sound drivers makes the speakers work and alls fine but as soon as I restart - boom same problem. I have disabled windows driver updates to see if it helps but I just restarted and its done it again with the same issue but diabling it doesn't help now :(

Getting angry and any help will be greatley appreciated

Thank you

Carl

Hi and welcome to ExTS

Start > type in .......services.msc ............ENTER

Scroll down and locate the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint services.

Make sure that they are both set to Auto.

If you need to change it - double click on the service and change the Startup Type > OK

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
