Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Re: windows 2003 terminal server Then you need to enable Active Desktop, then give the users through GPO the ability. At least that's what I remembe for having to enable it. Good luck because you're manager is going to be complaining when his/her performance hits the floor. -- Jeff Pitsch Microsoft MVP - Terminal Services "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2A3A9ACA-9ACE-469E-BE76-F5EB1891D9E9@microsoft.com... > > I don't but my manager does > > > "Jeff Pitsch" wrote: > >> Ask yourself this, do you really, REALLY want users adding their own >> backgrounds? from a perforamnce stance, do you really want a high res >> bitmap of some persons kids degrading performance? >> >> -- >> Jeff Pitsch >> Microsoft MVP - Terminal Services >> >> "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:48914CCC-7CFD-4314-8DEE-B33D345067F9@microsoft.com... >> >I belive it is but i check what I belive was most of the policies and >> >the >> > were set so they could be modified. >> > >> > "HDI" wrote: >> > >> >> On 25 aug, 14:22, John <J...@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: >> >> > Users cannot change the desktop back grounds and I can someopne tell >> >> > where >> >> > the settings are. >> >> > Thank you >> >> >> >> Hi John, >> >> >> >> Most of the time this is disabled because of performance reasons. >> >> >> >> Probably this is set by group policies. >> >> >> >> HDI >> >> >> >> >>
