KenB Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hi and welcome to ExTS i'm looking into getting a new graphics card Your choice is limited by what you want to spend. Take a look here: click here Depending on the PSU that you have you may need to upgrade this as well. Post the make and model number of your PC. KenB Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I think you have a HP Pavillion click here If this is the case you are possibly going to have a few problems. The motherboard is uATX .............ultra small form factor to fit in the small case. Motherboard specs click here It does suggest that it accepts PCIe x 16 cards with no mention of low profile. Normally small form factor boards need a low profile card. You are going to need a low profile Video Card I think You may also find that an upgrade PSU from 300Watts to say 500Watts is difficult to find. It is an internal ATX Does it have a Video Card installed at the moment or are you using on-board graphics ( chip on the m/board ) ? KenB Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 it is the same as when i got it so nothing has changed. I assume that you have onboard video. It is simple to check. Take the panel off and take a look. I have drawn a box around the slot that will house the Video Card. You must make sure that any card you select is going to fit as they overhang the slot front and back. It looks as if the card would come close to the RAM Slots.
