Guest Kahless Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 ThsnksMy son is getting the blue screen of death with the error message "bad pool headers". He is in the Air Force and left me a voicemail about his pc. The cause appears to be that he click on one of those scams to have your pc scanned by AntivirusXP. After the 2300 viruses it found, that his Kaspersky did not, it wanted a credit card to continue. He clicked cancel and the BSOD cycle started. When the pc reboots, he is already logged in as the same user. Where can I find information to fix the "bad pool headers" error?
Guest Anteaus Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 RE: "bad pool headers" I suspect the 'rebooting' may be simulated. Check these two sites for an uninstaller: http://malwarebytes.org/ http://bleepingcomputer.com "Kahless" wrote: > ThsnksMy son is getting the blue screen of death with the error message "bad > pool headers". Guest Kahless Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 RE: "bad pool headers" Well that definitely worked. I had him boot to safe mode and run MSCONFIG and go to startup. We went through each item in his startup. Disabled 2 files LH0325j)ceen and a RH0325j0ceen. After that Kaspersky found five infections, but would not delete them. He ran the Malware killer from Malwarebytes and it killed 49 infections. We are reinstalling Kaspersky tonight. There is nothing like long distance troubleshooting. Thanks for your help Anteaus.
