Guest Andrew Wan Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I should've used the Files & Settings Transfer Wizard.. but it's too late now. I already copied my old PC entire harddrive and then wiped it clean. So am wondering is it possible to export/migrate these old PC user profiles into my new PC? I believe things like Outlook Express, MSN Messenger, and many other Microsoft programs uses GUIDs or security IDs... and the files are encrypted or cannot be opened unless it matches the user account's security ID.

Guest Andrew Wan Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Re: QUERY: export/migrate old PC user profile into new PC No I didn not clone. I just copied the Documents & Settings folder.. then reinstalled Windows XP.. so that each user account has a new SID. I would like to know if it's possible to synchronise these SIDs so that new profiles can use these old accounts. Am sure it's possible?
