Got a Windows XP computer , with 60gb har drive hooked to it.

I use Acronis as a true image backup to the USB drive.

I have the full Acronis true image backup on the USB drive.

If my pc crashes, and I put a new internal hard drive in (I assume I'll get

it back from the shop with a fully functional bland disk): what do I need

to do to get into the USB hard drive and run a recovery through the Acronis

backup?

You create an Acronis Recovery CD now, then use this CD to

boot the machine for the recovery process.

Lurking here a bit and was wondering if you can use the Acronis program CD

to boot from instead of making a recovery CD?

Thanks,

Ray

Don't know - I've never bought the CD as I always purchase it on-line.

Anyway - it's an absolutely trivial affair to burn a recovery CD.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will need to do that then to better

my chances for a full recovery should something happen.

The Acronis CD is bootable.

However, there will be newer builds of your particular version, so you

might as well burn your own CD.

Another option is to burn a BartPE CD with the Acronis plugin.
