Armageddon Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hi Guys Very rarely does a problem have me stumped , but this one has I use Distrowatch alot , but for the last 2 days I cannot access it from any of my pc's both wired and wirelessly , on any browser or any of the 7 operating systems I use , I have spent 2 hours on the phone with TalkTalk to no avail. Now if I use hotspot shield to change my IP I can connect to the website without problems , so I was wondering if you guys have any ideas I have re-set the router and all browsers and no joy , combofix , malwarebytes etc all come back clean , and anyway I face the problem on my Linux systems which points me to a network issue. so again any thoughts/ideas will help thank you. KenB Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hi, I have just tried Distrowatch.com and the site is accessible. It could be that they are blocking your IP Address. I was searching sites yesterday and came across one that told me I was banned - considering I had never been there before it must have been IP Address related. Do you just get "Cannot Connect" or another message? Interestingly - I use TalkTalk too ................so it doesn't look like anything at their end. Armageddon Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 I agree Ken , if I use my mobile broadband dongle I can connect to the website , I might give ipconfig / release and renew a go see if that works and get back to you Quote Google is your friend We are all members helping other members. KenB Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I also read somewhere that using a fixed IP Address rather than Auto sorted a similar problem.
