Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Re: 2008 TS Licensing The OS of your Terminal Server decides which type of licenses you need. If your Terminal Server still runs W2K and you only want to move your W2K TS CALs to a new Licensing Server on a 2008 server, you can call the Clearinghouse to get the licenses reissued for installation on the new LS. But if you are now running a 2008 Terminal Server, then you will also need 2008 CALs and 2008 TS CALs, and there is no point in moving those old W2K TS CALs, because they are worthless. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ Joe <spaceyjoe2020@yahoo.com> wrote on 25 aug 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Hi > > So I have windows 2000 terminal server runnning - how I transfer > those license to 2008? > Or do we need to buy newer license?
