MS Elite 1011 keyboard.

WinXP Pro SP 3

Latest Intellitype app.

My 'favorites' keys will not bring up their assigned web sites while I'm

using IE7.

When I attempt to use them my computer freezes and I must reboot.

When applying one of the four assigned keys from a cold boot all is well - I

get to the sites I have selected.

What must I do to eliminate this annoying situation?

Which was installed first, IE7 or WinXP SP3?

=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start

IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

or

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer

(No add-ons).

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

=> Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Advanced settings (RIES)?

Are you using tabs? How do you treat "Open links from other programs"?

Tip: use Process Explorer to see the task structure that iexplore.exe

is in when itype.exe starts it.

So, can you use your keyboard buttons also if you first close all IE windows

(and verify that no other iexplore.exe tasks are running after that)?

FWIW when I do that iexplore.exe will open up under itype.exe

and stay there but if I already have other instances of iexplore.exe running

the itype initiated ones start there but quickly get subsumed by one of those

other instances. (In my case I use: Open links from other programs in:

a new tab in the current window.)

Shut down your antivirus app and Reinstall the Intelli software and

try again.
